Your dental appointment went great and now you are ready to go home. Our Highlands Ranch dentists, Dr. DeLapp and Dr. Parsons want to make sure you take great care! Here are a list of their recommendations for your recovery.
Please make sure you have a responsible driver to get you home and that person is able to stay with your for 4-8 hours after your appointment to help and observe you until you are fully alert. Although you may be alert after several hours please do not attempt to drive a car for the remainder of the day.
Make sure you go home and rest the remainder of the day. Please no strenuous physical activity.
Do not attempt to eat a heavy meal immediately. Although you may feel hungry, we recommend a light diet including liquids and soft foods such as milkshakes, smoothies, yogurts, etc. After you are fully alert, and your numbness has worn off you may begin to add back foods slowly.
A feeling of nausea occasionally develops. We recommend you lay down, small sips of ginger ale/7-up and a small amount of crackers. If nausea persists after 4 hours, please call our office.
Do not consume any alcoholic beverages or other medications not recommended or given permission by our Highlands Ranch dentists for the remainder of the day.
If you are unable to contact our office or if you feel you are experiencing a serious medical emergency/complication please seek emergency medical attention immediately.
