Patients who require dental implants are often concerned with the quality of the products used. At Cottonwood Dental Group, we use only the highest quality products and most advanced techniques during the dental implant procedure. Our practice uses Branemark implants. Branemark is the most studied implant system and has been used by dentists longer and more widely than any other product brand. Considered to be the gold standard system by our dentists, the Branemark procedure requires two doctors to accurately perform the implant. First, an oral surgeon places the implant and then the cosmetic dentist places the crown or bridge over the implant. This procedure may be performed with sedation dentistry.
Used for aesthetic and functional purposes, dental crowns are thin yet durable covers that are placed over cracked, uneven, chipped, or damaged teeth. Crowns can significantly decrease oral discomfort and provide support to the damaged teeth. At Cottonwood Dental Group, Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. Candace DeLapp offer dental crowns to patients who seek to dramatically increase the appearance and functionality of their teeth.
At Cottonwood Dental Group, we offer partial and full dentures for Englewood, Highlands Ranch, Lone Tree, and greater Denver area patients.
Commonly known as a "root canal," endodontic treatment is designed to prevent tooth loss when the tooth's root is damaged or infected. Beneath each tooth lies dental pulp - a root - that supplies nutrients to the tooth. If this dental pulp becomes damaged or infected, the tooth can die. During endodontic treatment, the dentist will drill a small hole in the tooth and remove or reshape the dental pulp in order to save the tooth. Following the procedure, the drilled hole will be filled with tooth-colored fillings and/or a crown.
Periodontics is the study and treatment of gum disease. Gum disease, also known as periodontal disease, is a serious health issue that should be treated immediately. In its early stages, gum disease is called "gingivitis" and is caused by a virulent bacteria found in plaque. If not treated properly, it can cause tooth decay and tooth loss. If left untreated for an extended period of time, gum disease can lead to other serious health problems. Early signs of periodontal disease are swollen, bleeding, or tender gums. If you are experiencing these symptoms, we encourage you to contact us today. Our state-of-the-art equipment can effectively and safely treat gum disease and help prevent future oral damage.
Though we try to provide a safe, comfortable environment for all patients, we know that undergoing dental procedures can be somewhat intimidating for patients. That's why we offer sedation dentistry to Denver area patients who are nervous about their dental procedure. Oral sedation can help patients to relax during their dental procedure. During oral sedation, you will be awake, relaxed, and conscious. This relaxed state will help you to feel more comfortable and to have an overall more pleasant experience.
Nitrous oxide allows the patient to remain awake but in a sedated state. We offer this sedation to patients who are apprehensive about undergoing dental procedures and seeking a way to be more relaxed during their visit. Sedation dentistry with nitrous oxide is an excellent choice for patients who are seeking sedation that is slightly more effective than the common oral sedation.
The dentists at Cottonwood Dental Group have hospital privileges so that we can perform day surgery with general anesthetic. Though this can be costlier than in-office procedures, it is often the best option for patients who are extremely apprehensive about receiving dental services, and do not want to receive in-office sedation dentistry.
Though we try to do our best to accommodate all clients, there are often extreme dental problems that we are not best qualified to handle. In such cases, we do offer a referral service to our patients so that they can find the best specialist available to treat their condition.
