Denver Invisalign Dentistry

End of  the years is rapidly approaching and insurance benefits as well as medical (dental) savings accounts many need to be dispersed by year end. For most of these plans once the year ends those funds are no longer available. On of the many choices may be straightening your teeth using Invisalign orthodontics. Our Denver dentists Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. H. Candace DeLapp provide Invisilagn orthodontics for their patients in the Denver metro area.

Orthodontic relapse corrected with Invisalign Denver Dentist

One of the many elements our Denver Dentist have seen is you need to wear your orthodontic retainer the rest of your life is you wish to maintain your straight teeth. In many but not all instances teeth move as we age and become crowded again. Denver Invisalign treatment “generally” works quite well in orthodontic relapse.

Clear orthodontic retainers Denver dentist

The nice thing about Invisalign is it a series of clear retainers that move your teeth in very small increments. While not invisible they are difficult to see that you are wearing them in most patients. In most cases small tooth colored attachments are placed on the tooth that aid in movement of your teeth. It should be noted that not everyone is a candidate for Invisalign orthodontics.  These cases tend to be complex crowding or rotations of the teeth.  Traditional orthodontics (surgery) may be your best option.

Highlands Ranch dentist Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. H. Candace DeLapp know the importance of healthy gums to your overall health An article in the Journal of Periodontology (2009) discusses how gum treatment can reduce the “C-reactive protein (CRP)” , “IL-6″ and fibrinogen (clotting factor). The article by Figueredo et al discuss how gum therapy reduced the levels of of the aforementioned. The net result from this decrease “may” be a decrease risk of cardiovascular disease.

Dentist Highlands Ranch retained baby teeth

Posted under: Dentist Highlands Ranch, Highlands Ranch dentist YouTube practice video — Dr. James DeLapp @ 4:41 pm

Highlands Ranch Dentist, Denver Dentist, Parker Dentist, Ken Caryl Dentist, Lone Tree Dentist, Castle Pines DentistryDentist Highlands Ranch baby teeth

Our Highlands Ranch dentists have on occasion received calls on baby teeth that just will not come out. The question is what to do? As a general rule if there is no infection or pain around the tooth “most of the time” we can let mother nature take its course. There are times Highlands Ranch dentists Dr. James DeLapp and Dr. H. Candace DeLapp recommend that “other” action be taken.

Help… teach your child how to wiggle their tooth our Dentist Highlands Ranch

Yes… this is in most instances the most effective way to help your child remove those loose baby teeth. Sometimes using a tissue to get an effective grip on the tooth can assist you. Time and effort should be awarded.

Our Highlands Ranch dentist “can” help to remove those stubborn baby teeth.

Our Highlands Ranch dentists wish to have the family (your child) remove their baby teeth. There are occasions where one root does not resorb (melt away) and it is stuck in pretty good. On other occasions these stubborn roots can create a localized infection that is painful and “rarely” become serious.  The key is knowing when for you to seek care for your child’s baby tooth.

White dental filling can replace silver or black fillings Dentist Highlands

    Ranch

Amalgam dental filling material was popularized in the Civil War and is a cost effective method of restoring teeth ravaged by dental decay.  This material combines silver alloy and mercury to make a compound that is similar and yet dissimilar to either of these metals.  The down side of this material is in time it corrodes and makes the silver filling appear black.  Some of the “older” formulations  “may” swell and cause cracks and craze lines in teeth. The material requires a certain depth and width to be effective. Consequently more tooth structure may be removed in order to accommodate the limitations of this filling material.

    White dental fillings Highlands Ranch

White dental fillings main attraction to patients is the color and the ability to blend in with the surrounding  teeth. From a dentists perspective less tooth structure is removed in order to accommodate this bonded filling material.
