Do not delay dental emergencies Denver Dentist

This past weekend our Highlands Ranch dentist had a number of dental emergencies that were received.  Their patients called complaining of pain on several different teeth.  Was it the change of weather or just what participated these calls? Quite frankly we do not know but what they “all” had in common was our Highlands Ranch dentist  had recommended that they see a specialist to address their issue. If it ain’t broke don’t fix it

This is what one of the patients had commented some months prior.  More accurately he should have stated… if it doesn’t hurt don’t fix it. That part was correct but the area (an abscess) was present so in reality it was “broke” it just did not provide any symptom. Cancers, high blood pressure and diabetes may not produce a symptom until it is too late so prevention and early detection and treatment is the key.

Waiting for a symptom is risky

Our Highlands Ranch dentist does not recommend you wait until you get a symptom before you need any medical or dental treatment. When a symptom occurs the cost to treat the tooth skyrockets compared to addressing the problem in an earlier stage. Another symptom that you should be aware of is pain on chewing.  One of the several differential diagnosis is “cracked tooth syndrome”. If detected and treated early it may “just’ need a crown.  However, if the crack persists down the root surface a root canal or extracting the tooth may be your option.
