Dr. Candace DeLapp is a third generation Colorado native. Dentistry is considered her second career.
Before Dentistry: Dr. DeLapp was an administrative assistant at the University of Colorado School of Medicine in the Neurology Department for 17 years. In her tenure as and administrative assistant, she co-authored several published articles and studies in Neurology. Dr. DeLapp found a passion for dentistry, and put herself through night school at the University of Colorado Denver to obtain her undergraduate requirements.
Post Graduate and Doctoral Training: Through encouragement of Dr. James DeLapp, Dr. Candace DeLapp decided to change careers and to become a dentist. Dr. DeLapp was selected to the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. Dr. DeLapp received her Doctor of Dental Surgery in 1992 from the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine. She served as her class President for all four years.
Committees and Dental Boards: Since then, Dr. DeLapp has served on numerous boards, committees, and associations. She has been a Clinical Instructor at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in the Restorative Department. Dr. DeLapp has been elected President of the University Of Colorado School Of Dental Medicine Alumni association. She currently serves on the Central Region Testing Services as a clinical examiner for dentist to obtain their license. She is a current executive board member for the Dentists Professional Liability Trust. Dr. DeLapp is a past board of trustees for the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society and continues to serve this as a member of the Rocky Mountain Dental Convention board member. She has also served on the peer review committee.
Commitment to Life-long Learning: She is an ardent believer in life-long learning and takes hundreds of hours of continuing education each year to provide her patients with top quality services and the most up to date techniques and products. She continues to guest lecture at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in treatment planning and life long learning courses. Dr. DeLapp maintains her practice in Highlands Ranch, CO where she practices with her daughter, Dr. Sarah D. Parsons. In her free time Dr. DeLapp loves spending time with her family, fly fishing, reading, and cooking.
Although Dr. DeLapp excels in all types of dentistry, she is most fond of cosmetic dentistry and full mouth rehabilitations.
